Kerbside

Privacy policy

Effective 23 October 2026

Kerbside turns a photo of a used car into a buyer's report. This page explains what happens to that photo and to everything else the app touches. Short version: no account, no database, and nothing kept on our side once you close the page.

The photo you scan

You choose every photo yourself, from the camera or from your own gallery.

  • The photo stays on your device until you press Scan.
  • Before it leaves the device, your browser shrinks it to at most 1280 pixels on the longest side and compresses it as a JPEG, so a full-resolution original is never sent.
  • It travels over an encrypted HTTPS connection to the Kerbside server, which passes it to an AI analysis service to produce the report.
  • Your chosen buying country is also sent with the photo to generate approximate local sale-price guidance. This is a country you select, not your detected location, and it is not saved on your device.
  • Kerbside does not store photos or reports. There is no account system, no photo library and no report history: the report exists only in the browser tab you are reading, and is gone when you close it.

What stays on your device

The language you pick (English or Spanish) is saved in your browser's own storage on this device so the app remembers it next time. It never leaves the device and is not shared with us.

What Kerbside does not collect

There is no sign-up and no payment step, so we never ask for or receive your name, email address, phone number, payment details, contacts, precise location or advertising identifiers. The app sets no tracking cookies and contains no advertising or analytics software.

Hosting and technical logs

Kerbside runs on a hosting platform that keeps standard technical records so the service stays online and secure: IP address, browser and device type, the pages and endpoints requested, timestamps and error messages. These records serve security and reliability only. They are not sold and not used for advertising.

The AI service that reads your photo

The analysis request is sent with an instruction that the AI provider should not retain the input or use it for training. Kerbside cannot control that provider's own retention, logging or training practices, so review them before you rely on this policy for anything beyond a personal car purchase.

Where processing happens

The AI provider may process the photo on servers outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area.

Children

Kerbside is a car-buying tool. It is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 16.

Your rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation you can ask to access, correct or delete the personal data held about you, restrict or object to its processing, and lodge a complaint with the Spanish data protection authority (AEPD, www.aepd.es). Because Kerbside keeps no accounts, photos or reports, there is normally nothing for us to delete — closing the page already discards your report. Requests about hosting records are answered through the contact below.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters to you, the date at the top of this page is updated.
